Prasad G.K.S
PrasadGKS is an Architect/Computational Designer with an interest in furthering the evolution of architecture and design using human-centric solutions and cutting-edge technology. He completed his B.Arch degree at the SRM Institue of Science and Technology, KTR in Chennai, India. His exemplary academic record earned him multiple scholarships and awards. He gained expertise in solving complex design problems during his academic years, internships in Dubai, and 2+ years of architectural practice. His concepts showcase artistic expression, logic, functionality, and a cinematic approach towards design. He aims to find synergy between sustainability and experimental design through parametric, procedural, and generative processes.
The Hotel design is an independent exploration of the basic massing achieved during my Undergraduate Thesis. The massing, though out of scope for the thesis, reflects the building's response to all the site and functional constraints placed by the SDSC Complex Design. The prime focus here was to delve deeper into the construction aspects and digital methods used to achieve fluidic exoskeletons in a tower design. Functional aspects such as services and planning were also designed as a secondary goal. Experimentation was done in software such as Maya and Rhino 7 with the use of plug-ins such as grasshopper to explore parametric workflows, construction ideas and to rationalize the design.
