Prasad G.K.S
PrasadGKS is an Architect/Computational Designer with an interest in furthering the evolution of architecture and design using human-centric solutions and cutting-edge technology. He completed his B.Arch degree at the SRM Institue of Science and Technology, KTR in Chennai, India. His exemplary academic record earned him multiple scholarships and awards. He gained expertise in solving complex design problems during his academic years, internships in Dubai, and 2+ years of architectural practice. His concepts showcase artistic expression, logic, functionality, and a cinematic approach towards design. He aims to find synergy between sustainability and experimental design through parametric, procedural, and generative processes.
This design is a product of a three-day workshop organized by the AA Visiting School Los Angeles in 2021 led by Levent Ozruh. Procedures for the Martian Vernacular investigated vernacular architecture for future human settlements on Mars at the village scale. HoudiniFx was used as the main tool to test the limits of formal differentiation for the foundations of Martian vernacular architecture that responds to local materiality as well as the extremity of the planet's environment. The main goal was to speculate a vernacular through procedural and rule-based systems that respond to specific site conditions. The result is a system of intelligence that offers spatial complexities from agent-based robotic construction overseen by architects.
